MUSE MEMBERSHIP FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long will my membership be active?
Memberships are for ONE FULL YEAR (or one Earthly trip around the sun), and expire at the end of the month in which you purchased the membership the following year.

I'm moving, can I transfer the remainder of my membership to another family?
Memberships are NOT Transferrable

How long will it be until I get my Membership Cards?
Please allow 7-10 business days for processing.  You may pick up your Membership Cards from the front desk, or you may pay a small fee and we will mail them to you.

Can I upgrade my membership at any time?
Yes! Upgrades to membership may be subject to additional fees, however.

What happens if I lose my card?
You will still have access to The Muse and will be asked to show your ID at entry.  However, other museums may require you have your membership with you to gain reciprocal benefits.  Lost cards may be replaced for a small fee.

Can my sister/friend/etc... and their child be added to my membership?
Family and Passport are for same household adults and children (exception Family Plus and Passport Plus).  Please contact us at 865-594-1494 if you need further clarification.

Can I purchase my membership online?
Yes!  Memberships purchased online may have a small processing fee.  You can also purchase memberships by calling The Muse or at the guest services desk.

Will I be notified before my membership expires?
We will contact you via email to let you know your membership is about to expire.  We offer a renewal discount too!  Be sure to provide us with an updated email address and make sure our emails aren't going to your Spam or Promtionals folders.

What are the benefits associated with the ASTC reciprocal program?

Our family cannot afford the membership fee but would love to take advantage of your programs, do you provide any sponsored or scholarship covered memberships?
We are excited to launch a new program called Muse For All which raises funds specifically for scholarship covered programming and Family Access Memberships.  You may visit the guest desk to fill out an application for a Family Access Membership.  This year long membership cost  $10 for families who are receiving some form of public income-related assistance (current enrollment proof must be shown at application). The membership includes unlimited admission and planetarium programs for two named adults and four named children to The Muse Knoxville only, and discounts in the museum gift shop and café, camps, classes, birthday parties, and special events.
